Vulcan’s Observation Tower reopening celebration rescheduled to March 16

The much-anticipated reopening of Vulcan Park’s Observation Tower celebration has been rescheduled because of stormy weather expected Friday evening.

Vulcan Park & Museum announced on their social media this morning that the Block Party celebrating the reopening of the Observation Tower will be held on Saturday evening on March 16th.

Even though the party has been postponed a day, the Observation Tower, which has been closed since June 2023, officially reopens Friday, March 15th during normal operation hours.

Here are the details about the Block Party:

  • When: Saturday, March 16 | 5-7PM
  • Where: Vulcan Park & Museum, 1701 Valley View Dr, Birmingham, AL 35209
  • Cost: $6 for ages 13+ | $4 for ages 5-12 | Children 4 and under – Free | Vulcan Park & Museum Members – Free
  • Tickets are available onsite only

The Sunsets at Vulcan: Block Party on Saturday, March 16 will be a family-friendly gathering with a variety of fun things to do. 

The agenda:

  • Access to the Observation Tower
  • Beer + wine (available to those 21+ for an additional cost)
  • Food from local vendors (available for an additional cost)
  • Free popcorn
  • Live music by The Locked Band

You can also score a 10% discount on all purchases made at The Anvil gift shop during the event.

BONUS: The first 50 guests to climb the 156 stairs to the top of the Observation Tower will receive a prize.
