If you are a fan of mimosas, cocktails and fine wines, Prime Champagne Bar on 4th Avenue South in Birmingham’s Lakeview District is your new “go-to” place.

Part of the Lakeview Green mixed-use development, Prime Champagne is on the same side of the street as Hi-Wire Brewing, on the opposite corner at 2901 4th Ave S suite 1j, Birmingham, AL 35233.

Bham Now met up with Theodore McMullen, III, the owner of the newly opened family-managed business.

“We wanted something new and avant-garde — something different than the rest of the places. We don’t serve food. There is no smoking. It is more of a conversation and cocktails place.

~ Theodore McMullen, III, owner of Prime Champagne Bar

Along with a wide selection of drinks ranging from mimosas to cocktails, the interior provides comfortable places to relax and with friends. As seen in the video below, nearly everything on the inside is custom made, from the sections (booths) to the colorfully lit bar.

An entrepreneur and owner of multiple businesses, McMullen told Bham Now why he chose to open a champagne bar.

“The champagne idea came from us seeing a niche that we could fit and fill. I think we’re gonna be able to do that. It is something really nice that the whole community can enjoy.”

Open the following days and hours

Now the most important question: what days and hours will Prime Champagne be open during the week?

Monday-Thursday — 4:00PM to 11:00PM

Friday-Saturday — 4:00PM to 2:00AM

McMullen told us they are considering opening on the first Sunday of each month for a brunch.
