Alabama-based chicken joint coming to Gardendale

Popular Alabama-based chicken finger restaurant chain Guthrie’s is coming to Gardendale.

Gardendale Mayor Stan Hogeland announced on social media the new addition to the Jefferson County town north of Birmingham.

“Proud to officially announce that Guthrie’s is coming to Gardendale. They will be renovating the former Sonic Restaurant on Highway 31. Renovations will begin soon. Help me welcome Guthrie’s to Gardendale!”

The former Sonic Restaurant is at 1020 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL 35071.

Five new restaurants since November 2023

Since December 2023, Gardendale has opened five new eateries in the community.

They are:

  • Jersey Mike’s 
  • Dunkin’
  • Dee’s Kitchen
  • Chicken Salad Chick
  • Moe’s Southwest Grill

In addition to the new restaurants, the city has completed a major $32 million upgrade to Bill Noble Park.
