Is Birmingham the Silicon Valley of the South? It’s a YES from us. Take a look at these three Birmingham startups and you’ll see why we’re so bullish about Birmingham’s entrepreneurial scene.

1. Verinext

Verinext is an IT consulting company that delivers transformative business technology to customers.

How do they do this? Through intelligent strategies and modern products. As described by their website, Verinext activates the innovation that businesses need to make their next move with confidence.

This Pennsylvania-based company keeps getting bigger and better! Verinext recently expanded its Birmingham facilities and they’re sitting pretty in their new 3,900-square-foot office.

2. AI Metrics

AI Metrics cuts read times in half by using artificial intelligence to improve the efficiency and accuracy of cancer reads. In the thorough screenings, AI Metrics promises:

  • Automated reports
  • 99% reduction in major errors
  • Reduced Radiologist Burnout
  • Twice as fast reads

AI Metrics knows that the process of reading cancer screenings is tedious—which is why they’ve come up with a solution.

3. HealNow

This New York-based company made its move to Birmingham in 2021, and they’ve been pretty unstoppable ever since.

HealNow is an online payment platform for pharmacies. Here’s how it works:

  • HealNow partners with pharmacies to reduce the phone calls + forms they receive.
  • Patients can make co-payments, schedule deliveries or pickups + enter medical information online.
  • HealNow enables pharmacies to offer online payments of prescriptions for seamless payments.

AND HealNow was recently featured as a “Startup to Watch” by Alabama Inno.
