EastWest owner Colby Conklin is set to open his 3rd restaurant in the Birmingham area! Dubbed “The Mayor,” the new restaurant will open on Thursday, February 15th at 11:00AM.

Located at 2808 7th Ave S. in the Lakeview District between Hattie Bs and Umani, the  4,311 square-foot eatery will be much like the menu at Conklin’s EastWest downtown.

“Like the menu at EastWest where we bring Asian (East) and American (West) together and blend them, we wanted this menu to not be just Asian inspired.”

~ Colby Conklin

Menu items will include Asian-inspired sandwiches, noodle bowls and American fare:

  • Banh Mi’s with different proteins to choose from
  • Thai chicken cheesesteak sandwich
  • Noodle dishes such as a chicken pad Thai
  • Ground beef stir fry ramen
  • Spicy garlic beef noodle items
  • Flatbreads
  • Burger
  • Several wing flavors

Why The Mayor name?

On top of everyone’s curiosity about the new restaurant’s menu, locals want to know — why is it called The Mayor? It is a tribute to Mayor Randall Woodfin.

“It does help that our Mayor, Randall Woodfin, is one of the nation’s coolest Mayors, and like any Mayor he serves everyone, no matter what. The Mayor in Lakeview will do just that.”

~ Colby Conklin

Other Amenities — Part Asian Chow Hall & Sports Bar

In addition to the food and name, The Mayor will also stand out because of the way it is arranged. Think part Asian food hall and part sports bar.

One side will feature an Asian Chow Hall and the other side will feature a bar with 20 taps and massive TVs.
