This year is Daniel Lopez’s first year being a member of Glenwood’s Junior Board, a decision he said has been an honor.

In March 2023, Daniel became a dad to two amazing little boys—Carter and Cohen. Both children were diagnosed with autism at an early age and received services from Glenwood.

“When our eldest son Carter was diagnosed [with autism], my wife was told he would never talk. Carter attended Glenwood’s Children Services Center and has since graduated. He is now thriving in public school and we can’t get him to stop talking. He has already achieved the impossible thanks to the support of Glenwood.”

Daniel’s youngest son, Cohen, currently attends Glenwood’s Children’s Services Center and continues to learn and grow every day.

“I want people to understand Big Top is important in raising support and awareness for autism in Alabama. It is critical. Every person knows a child, adolescent or adult with autism and behavioral disorders. Many local families do not know the resources that are available to them.”
