1. First things first—the food is incredible

Whether you’re a longtime football fanatic or are just there for the halftime show and commercials, there’s one thing we can all agree on when it comes to watching The Big Game… the food. The Battery has that covered.

Here are a few of our favorite menu items:

  • Smoked Chicken Wings: Smoked with your choice of Alabama white sauce, buffalo or Korean BBQ
  • The Club: Toasted sourdough, Benton’s bacon, ham, turkey, smoked chicken, Thumman’s cheddar, havarti, tomato and arugula
  • Buffalo Chicken Sandwich: Fried or grilled chicken, house buffalo sauce, buttermilk ranch, blue cheese and celery slaw

Don’t be deceived—The Battery’s menu goes beyond sports bar food (although their classics are top tier). You’ll also find items like seared king salmon, filet mignon and chicken pesto pasta.

2. The Battery has plenty of TVs to watch your favorite games

When we talked to the restaurant’s general manager, Jeramy Stephens, he described the spot as “a place for upscale-casual dining that happens to have plenty of TVs and great vibes for watching sports.”

The Battery has a full bar, lots of seating and an array of TVs across the restaurant, including on the patio. I watched a few football games this fall on the patio and inside and could’ve stayed all day.

3. Enjoy happy hours, local beers + curated cocktails

If it’s not on their menu, their savvy bartenders can probably make it happen.

Some of their local beers include:

  • Good People Muchacho
  • Good people IPA
  • Trim Tab IPA
  • Trim Tab Paradise Now
  • Back Forty Truck Stop Honey
  • Good People Hazy Snake
  • Cahaba Blonde

PLUS—The Battery has happy hour Monday-Friday from 3-6PM with $2 off draft beer, wine by the glass and specialty cocktails.

Whether you’re looking for a place to enjoy The Big Game, watch a day of hoops or enjoy some good eats, The Battery is the place to go.
