In the summer of 2023, Nikki Sieve and her family moved from Louisiana to Chelsea. She and her husband looked for a preschool for their daughters and quickly fell in love with AIM Academy. Nikki was so impressed with the fun and positive environment that she started working for AIM in October.
We sat down with Nikki to find out why this is such a special place. Here’s what we learned.
Your neighborhood preschool since 2020
It seemed impossible for Nikki and her husband to find a preschool that checked all the boxes—until they stumbled upon AIM.
“As soon as we got done with our interview, we were like, ‘Okay, this is where we want our kids to go.’ We have nothing but good things to say about AIM.”

In the Birmingham area, you’ll find them taking care of infants to pre-K in Chelsea, Helena and Trussville, plus a school-aged summer camp program.
While kiddos need the chance to build community at an early age, AIM is committed to supporting early childhood education as well as playtime. Their leadership team commits to creating a supportive school environment through thoughtful programming and curriculum.

Nikki is the “catch-all” at AIM Academy
Nikki was in the medical field for 11 years, but when her family moved to Alabama, she realized she wanted a change of pace.
“I wanted to spend more time with my girls, so I asked, ‘Is there any way y’all are hiring just for something completely different?’ And they mentioned AIM Academy in Helena. I started in October and it’s been a breath of fresh air.”

The leadership team at AIM Academy expressed how Nikki is a jack-of-all-trades. She expanded on this by saying she thinks of herself as a catch-all. If you need something, find Nikki.
“The environment is so uplifting. Everybody is so welcoming, we all work together as a team and our leadership is phenomenal—they guide us so we can get this school where it needs to be.”

What makes AIM Academy unique?
If you’re still on the fence and thinking, “How is this different than other preschools?” We have the answer.
“The teachers have been working on lesson plans and that’s something, as a parent, that I appreciate. They want to see the kids here at AIM thrive and be prepared for the next step in their lives—like Pre-K or Kindergarten.”
Nikki Sieve
The teachers at AIM Academy put in thoughtful work towards lesson plans—allowing your children to become lifelong learners. The curriculum is centered around AIM’s core values:
- Commit to excellence—follow the best practices in early childhood development and ensure that policies + procedures are effective
- Create a community—create opportunities for real human connection both inside + outside of the classroom
- Work with passion—provide staff with a comprehensive program with thorough support, mentoring + professional development
- Play with a purpose—provide students with play experiences to challenge + expand their understanding of the world
“Everybody here is upbeat. It’s like a big family, and that’s what I love about it.”
