Hattie’s Toyland is owned by Trussville residents Taylor and Kelsee Philpot. After years serving in ministry in Virginia, the couple moved to Trussville with their three children and soon-to-be fourth in 2020.

About a week after returning to Sweet Home Alabama to be near family, the Philpot’s world was rocked they they learned their daughter Hattie would be stillborn.

“Forced to sit in our grief, we survived 2020 much like the rest of the world. During this time, I was passionate to keep my daughter’s memory alive.”

After some time and thought, the decision to open Hattie’s Toyland in the Trusssville Entertainment District came to fruition in Fall 2023.

“We feel this is the only place in Trussville where we went to be. Not only does our family spend a lot of time here, but we hope to see this as a place to hang out in Trussville as it continues to develop.”
