According to District 2 City Councilor Hunter Williams, construction on the Star Amphitheater is scheduled to kick off in spring this year, when crews will begin reshaping the site to prepare the project to go vertical.

“The new amphitheater is being built in an area of our city that has been plagued with blight for as long as I’ve been alive. I am thrilled that we are finally at a place where we’re ready for shovels in the ground this spring. This is a perfect example of what we can accomplish when there is regional cooperation.”

If all goes according to plan, the Star Amphitheater could open to the public as early as Summer 2025.

The $50M amphitheater was first proposed in 2022 as a music venue geared towards mid-sized acts—artists that are too small to sell out the 45,000-seat Protective Stadium, but too big to perform in small venues.
