According to a recent press release, Birmingham’s Magic City Disco will be taking a Thursday morning flight to the UK for their appearance in the London New Year’s Day Parade.

The parade—which first took place in 1987—traverses a two-mile route through the streets of London’s West End, passing by some of the most historic buildings in the nearly 2,000-year-old city. Over 500,000 spectators are anticipated to attend the event, which attracts more than 10,000 performers from the USA, UK, Europe and beyond.

In addition to Magic City Disco, the Talladega College Band and Huntsville High School Band will be performing in the parade.

For those of us who can’t make the flight to London, Alabama Public Television will air the event locally—plus, you can stream it live on the parade’s website, LNYDP.com.

The London New Year’s Day Parade will begin at 6AM CST.
