Stacey Loper has a graduate degree and works as a mental health counselor in Hoover, but she can’t figure out how to make a meal by herself. To start making a change and gain some culinary knowledge, she’ll be competing for $25,000 on Food Network’s “Worst Cooks in America.” Keep reading for the deets.
This Hoover counselor is attending ‘culinary boot camp’
Stacey is great at her job, but when it comes to making dinner, breakfast or even a snack for her family, her skills are lacking. In January, she will be on Food Network’s Worst Cooks in America.
This season’s theme is “spoiled rotten,” focusing on competitors who have never had to fend for themselves—until now. Expect to see grown men whose mothers still prepare their meals and food delivery divas who never step into the kitchen.
“This season’s Worst Cooks have never had to take care of themselves and they are hilariously inept in the kitchen.”

What to expect from the worst cooks in the country
The seven-episode season will kick off with a two-hour premiere on Sunday, January 7 at 7PM on Food Network.
During the premiere, the group of recruits must recreate their favorite takeout dish AND cook a steak and potato dinner.
Some of the challenges contestants will go through include:
- a seafood-inspired game
- farm-themed competition
- supermarket speedway challenge
Throughout the season, the most successful chefs will earn “chef bucks” to buy game-changing advantages. In the end, only the most improved cook left standing will be awarded a $25,000 grand prize. We can’t wait to cheer Stacey on!
