Birmingham is home to many incredible small businesses creating handcrafted products you won’t find anywhere else. There’s nothing better than receiving a special, locally-made gift, so we’ve rounded up seven of our favorites.

Read on for our picks you can find right here in town (hello, last-minute shoppers!).

1. Anything from Susan Gordon Pottery

We have to include Susan Gordon when making a local gift guide. I have gifted Susan Gordon items on many occasions and am always met with smiles.

Choose from small pieces like ring dishes and candles to larger items like vases and bowls.

2. A sweet treat from Chocolatá

Chocolatá creates handcrafted chocolates in Downtown Birmingham that are equally beautiful and delicious. Their bonbons make the perfect gift for anyone with a sweet tooth.

3. Coffee from O’Henry’s

Locally-roasted coffee is a perfect gift or stocking stuffer. O’Henry’s has flavors like blueberry, cinnamon streusel and mocha toffee. Plus—you can never go wrong with their Christmas Blend.

4. A bread board from Alabama Sawyer

Alabama Sawyer makes quality wood-carved furniture and home accessories from fallen trees in the Birmingham area. Their smaller products—like ice buckets, bread boards and candle holders make for amazing gifts.

5. A gift box from Stone Hollow Farmstead

Stone Hollow Farmstead creates curated gift boxes filled with handcrafted items like cooking oils, preserves, baking mixes, syrups and more.

My favorite (and Oprah’s) is the Blissful Breakfast Box. It’s full of gourmet breakfast items including a floral honeysuckle jelly and a sprouted flour pancake mix.

6. Jewelry from Shalla Wista

Shalla Wista’s handmade jewelry is stunning and made of high-quality materials, so you’ll be giving a gift that will last a lifetime. There are many beautiful pieces to choose from like chunky statement necklaces and elegant stud earrings.

7. A framed piece from Carrie Pittman Art

Art is often overlooked when it comes to gifting, but it’s versatile, lasts forever and will continue to bring joy to its recipient long after it’s gifted. Carrie Pittman paints beautiful canvases, handbags, pillows, wallpaper and more. Her smaller framed pieces are a gift anyone will love to find under the tree.
