5 new openings in the Greater Birmingham Area including a brewery, coffee shop + more

Get excited, Bham! We’ve got five new openings in the Greater Birmingham Area that you won’t want to miss. Read on for all the details including Nike potentially coming to The Summit.

1. Nike | The Summit

Nike appears to be coming to The Magic City at The Summit with “Coming Soon Nike Birmingham” signs up between Sono Bello and Buckle at 240 Summit Boulevard. Despite all the signs outside the building and on social media, Nike has not responded to Bham Now’s inquiries, so stay tuned!

2. Steele Hall Brewing | Trussville

If you missed our story, Steele City Brewing has opened recently in Historic Downtown Trussville. Patrons can expect a beautiful outdoor patio, and at least one new beer a week. You can also try one of their five staple beers that will be available daily on their menu.

3. Baba Java | Hoover

According to the company’s Facebook page, Baba Java will be opening a new location in Hoover. This storefront will not only offer their full coffee menu, but gelato pops and shakes too.

4. SMOKE Bistro | The Pizitz

On Saturday, May 13 the long-anticipated SMOKE Bistro at The Pizitz will be hosting its official grand opening. You can expect a menu filled with traditional soul food with a barbecue flare. The bistro will offer dine-in and outdoor seating as well as delivery on catering orders.

5. T.A.K.E. Center | Irondale

Not only will T.A.K.E. be celebrating 10 years of service work throughout the South, but they will also be unveiling a new center. T.A.K.E. (Transgender Advocates Knowledgeable Empowering) is a Black trans-led organization helping trans folks in need. They provide services like crisis intervention, clothing and food, publish education and more.
