Earlier this year, we let you in on Little Professor Bookshop’s move to a new Homewood location. Well, it’s official—the beloved Little Professor is getting ready for their grand reopening this Saturday, October 28. Keep reading for the details.

As a book-lover and self-claimed Little Professor’s biggest fan, I have been counting down the days for this new location since it was announced. Join me in celebrating the long-awaited addition on Saturday.

We spoke to owner Meredith Robinson about her excitement of opening up their new home.
“While we loved our old location down 18th street, our new location achieves our vision of a fresh and modern book shop and community hub. Similar to our Pepper Place shop, we hope when you walk in our doors it feels inviting, open and a place you want to spend a few hours.”

In an announcement video on Instagram, the local bookshop team let their followers know that they are giving away a $100 gift card, Ladybird Taco treats and more fun items to celebrate the reopening.
The new space will serve as a community hub
Little Professor is known for hosting community events such as book clubs, trivia nights and children’s story times. To provide plenty of space for these events, the new location will offer additions such as:
- The space to host 50-100 people
- Designated parking for book clubs
- New shelves similar to those at the Pepper Place location
- 20% more inventory space
As Birmingham’s oldest bookstore, Little Professor is no stranger to fostering community. This new space will continue to serve as the community hub that this local shop already beautifully provides.
