UAB football fans expected a solid passing attack from QB guru Head Coach Trent Dilfer— but 38 completions and only 3 incompletions by Quarterback Jacob Zeno?

That’s mid-season efficiency.

UAB passing record shattered

En route to a 35-6 victory over North Carolina A&T,—Zeno, who had a pedestrian passing efficiency of 56.9% during the 2022 campaign, was on target all night, shattering team one game passing completions (record was 33) and completion percentage records.

And he shared the rock too, completing passes to 13 different receivers.

UAB Defense Stops A&T

On the defensive side of the ball, the Blazers shutdown A&T’s offense after they marched down the field on their first possession kicking a field goal.

Three quarters later, the Aggies were only able to notch an insignificant early 4th quarter field goal

UAB has now won eight straight season openers. Next week, they take on Georgia-Southern in Statesboro. They return to The Magic City and Protective on September 16th to play Louisiana.

Bham Now was out in full force Thursday night to capture the sights and scenes of the game.

Below are photos from the 35-6 victory and the beginning of the Trent Dilfer era.
