6 fabulous places to experience Barbie world in Birmingham
We can’t be the only ones counting down the days until July 21 for the Barbie movie release. To help you get in the spirit, we’ve gathered some of the coolest, pinkest and most fabulous places around The Magic City to immerse yourself in Barbie world. Read on for more.
1. Watch Barbie at Sidewalk Film Center
We can’t dive into the guide without first mentioning where to watch Barbie. It should come as no surprise that Sidewalk Film Center is showing the movie. There’s a huge line-up of special drinks, merchandise and photo ops ready for guests to embrace their inner Barbie.
Sidewalk gave us an inside scoop and said that they start playing Barbie on Thursday, July 20 for exclusive early screenings. To make it even better—tickets are FREE on July 22 and 23 because of a collaboration with Pluto TV. You might want to hurry, because all showings on July 22 are already sold out.

Apricot Lane in Hoover is THE fashion destination and a spot we know Barbie would fall head over heels for. There’s locations in both The Summit and Chace Circle, so run, don’t walk, to put your best fashionista foot forward.

I already know Charm Bham would be Barbie’s go-to for any accessory. This locally owned and operated boutique in downtown Birmingham features a mix of new and vintage jewelry, accessories, gifts and handmade and locally made goods. It’s everything you could want in a boutique.
4. Catch up with friends at Habitat Feed & Social
Habitat Feed & Social is known for its eccentric dining and scenery. With its spunky, colorful decor, Habitat is perfect for catching up with friends, a fun cocktail or a fancy party. What are you waiting for? Round up your besties for a night of drinks, food and gossip.
5. Indulge in a sweet treat from K&J’s Elegant Pastries
I can’t think of a better way to get in the Barbie mood than indulging in a sweet treat. There’s no better place to grab a sweet treat than K&J’s Elegant Pastries. The cutest decor and atmosphere are just a bonus to the beautiful and tasty pastries. The pinker the frosting, the better!
6. Pick up a new hobby with Highland Music
The bright pink exterior of Highland Music will draw you in, but it’s the spirited interior that will make you want to stay. Highland Music is a must for all your musical instrument needs. The shop’s inventory is always changing, so visit often!
