Last Sunday, the Bulls defeated their arch-rival the Huntsville Havoc, advancing to the finals to take on the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs in a best of five series.

The finals begin on Thursday, April 27th at the Pelham Civic Center. The puck drops at 7PM. The 2nd game will be played — same place, same time against the Yard Dawgs from Virginia the following day on Friday night.

Home tickets are available at the following — LINK.

The next two games will be played in Roanoke on Monday, May 1st and May 2nd  – if necessary.

Since the Bulls have home ice advantage, if a 5th game is needed, the series will return to Pelham.

Cinderella Story

This year’s Bulls team is a Cinderella story. Last year, the team finished 9th not making the playoffs. They turned it around of course in the 2022/23 season notching 2nd place in the standings.

One of the keys to this year’s amazing turnaround has been Bulls Coach Craig Simchuk  who was named earlier this month SPHL Coach of the Year.

A former Bulls player and captain, Simchuk also played for the Bulls when they made it to the President’s Cup finals in 2019.

“He (Simchuk) became the head coach two years ago. It was during the COVID year that was really strange, which didn’t start till December. He didn’t get hired until three weeks before the season. It took him about a year and a half or so to get his roster dialed in — to get the players he wanted—and once he got everybody together,  he put a system together. Now we’re playing for a championship.”
