It’s official—the Housing Authority of the Birmingham District (HABD), Southside Development Company (SDC) and City of Birmingham leadership will hold the official groundbreaking of Edgehill at Southtown on Friday, April 14. Keep reading to learn more.

On Friday, April 14, leaders in the community will gather to officially break ground on Edgehill at Southtown, a highly-anticipated new neighborhood in Birmingham’s southside. The mixed-use redevelopment will be located on the campus of the former Southtown Court public housing community, and will be constructed in phases.

The first phase of the development will begin with the construction of affordable housing for families and seniors. In addition to affordable housing, the new neighborhood seeks to house an array of office, technology or research-based organizations, hospitality, commercial and retail space.
