4 extraordinary art exhibits featuring local artists this April

Birmingham is a city of culture from its food to its people and art. If you’re looking for a way to discover and support local artists, check out these four art exhibits happening this April in The Magic City.

1. Caroline Sokol + Tim Denny | Gallery VOX

Birmingham artists Caroline Sokol and Tim Denny will be showcasing their collections at Gallery VOX. Both artists will be in attendance to talk about their work. The show lasts until May 13 and will feature paintings and drawings, plus never-before-seen black and white photographs from Caroline.

2. Véro the Traveling Artist | Rojo

Véro the Traveling Artist is a Birmingham local who ran an art gallery for 20 years. She is now on a new journey, working with new textures, art mediums and even puppetry. Her work will be on display and available to purchase at Rojo during the month of April.

3. 10th Anniversary Members Show | PaperWorkers Local

Join PaperWorkers Local for a special 10th anniversary exhibition of recent works showcasing the talent of its members. Paperworkers Local is Alabama’s only fine print studio open to the public. They also feature weekend art workshops each month and seven exhibits per year.

4. The Begonia | Ground Floor Contemporary

Ground Floor Contemporary’s (GFC) annual full-building exhibition, The Begonia, will be the feature exhibit this April. Come see a survey of works by 32 GFC artists and studio residents.
