Scooter’s Coffee opening new location in Chelsea

A new coffee shop is coming soon to 280– Scooter’s Coffee is set to open a new location in Chelsea near Arby’s and Buffalo Wild Wings. While there is no set opening date yet, construction on this project is now underway.

Scooter’s Coffee

Not familiar with Scooter’s Coffee? Founded in 1998 by Don and Linda Eckles, Scooter’s started as a single drive-thru coffee shop named “Scooter’s Java Express” in Bellevue, Nebraska. Since then, Scooter’s has rapidly expanded with more than 500 locations across the country, including seven in Alabama.

Although Scooter’s is known for its coffee—which you can order hot, blended or iced—the coffee shop also offers smoothies, Red Bull infusions, teas and several breakfast food options. Scooter’s Coffee also recently released its ready-to-drink canned flavored lattes.

Two 280 locations coming soon

Last year, Scooter’s announced plans for their first Birmingham Metro area location on 280 in the former home of Pizza Hut next to Chipotle and across the street from Fresh Market. This location is still under construction, with the newest 280 location in Chelsea also underway.

The new location will have a newly-built drive-thru kiosk model. The opening of the business will provide approximately 15 job opportunities for the area, said the Shelby County Reporter.
