2023 International Peace Conference

The 2023 International Peace Conference (IPC) is a partnership between Rotary International District 6860, The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and UAB’s Institute for Human Rights. IPC seeks to highlight the pursuit of peace at all levels of society. The conference will take place May 4-6, 2023, which marks the 60th anniversary of the Children’s March that ultimately led to desegregation in Birmingham.

This two-day experience will bring together leaders to share ideas and propose solutions to some of society’s most complex challenges.

Birmingham is home to nonviolent protestors for racial equality changing the trajectory of civil rights. Considering this, choosing the city to host IPC 2023 was not an afterthought. The City of Birmingham recognizes that peacemaking is an effort to be made by all ages and backgrounds.

IPC hosts are expecting attendees young and old from Birmingham locals to internationals.
