February 1 is the deadline to submit your film to the Sidewalk Film Festival

This year, Sidewalk Film Festival is celebrating its 25th anniversary. For over two decades, Sidewalk has proudly accepted project submissions through the FilmFreeway platform. What is Sidewalk Film Festival?

Since 1998, Sidewalk Film Festival has showcased 250 filmmakers and welcomed over 15,000 audience members. As a nonprofit organization, Sidewalk commemorates filmmaking in Alabama by celebrating inclusion and diversity with its community.

Community is something that Sidewalk seeks to create through everything they do from regular events to special fundraisers. This festival is a place for film lovers and filmmakers alike—and that is best achieved by creatives submitting their films for the chance that everyone can enjoy them.

The 25th Annual Sidewalk Film Festival presented by Regions Bank is returning with contributions from the Sidewalk Film Center and Cinema, Alabama Theatre, Lyric Theatre, Carver Theatre and more. This year’s festival will be held August 21-27 in Birmingham’s Historic Theatre District.

• Any and all creative projects must be submitted using the FilmFreeway platform in order to be considered for festival inclusion.
• Eligible works must have been completed after January 1, 2020.
• Entrants warrant that they have the legal right to submit the work to Sidewalk.
