If you don’t already love the ASO, you will after this show-stopping holiday concert. In this spirited event, Chris Confessore leads the ASO with special guest Act of Congress. This is the Birmingham-based band’s sixth time appearing with the ASO, and believe me, you’ll want to be in attendance to hear them perform holiday favorites and timeless classics.

Handel’s Messiah | December 17

For nearly 300 years, Handel’s Messiah has continued its popularity and on December 17, the ASO brings this fixture of the holiday season to Birmingham. 

Why will you love it? Well, Frederic Handel definitely knew how to write a good tune and this one features melody after melody of sheer greatness. You’ll even get to hear the iconic Hallelujah Chorus, one of the work’s most famous pieces.

On Saturday, December 31, join the ASO during an incredible SuperPOPS! Special Event—New Year’s Eve: A Viennesse Celebration

At this special annual tradition, toast to the end of 2022 with a nod to the Vienna Philharmonic’s New Year’s Day performances.  Beloved Maestro Carlos Izcaray takes to the podium to lead the ASO in a selection of Strauss family favorites like:

  • Johann Strauss, Jr: Overture to Die Fledermaus
  • Johann Strauss, Jr: Melodien Quadrille, Op. 112
  • Johann Strauss, Jr: Champagne Polka
