1. Carver Commodore

Rock n’ roll with five guys who call themselves Carver Commodore. You’ll find yourself tapping your feet to the beats of their new EP “Too Much?”. My favorite from the EP is “Devil May Care”—the electric guitar and banjo mix is unique and catchy.

2. Zoo Culture

Indie fans, you’ll love Zoo Culture. These Birmingham native musicians are currently working on rebranding the band, starting with the release of “Sundress (Beachcomber Version)”. Think of warm, happy and whispy vibes—it will be your next obsession.

3. Waxahatchee x Plains

Katie Crutchfield aka Waxahatchee, has just released a new album under the band name Plains. Her emotional lyrics are inspiring and her unique twangy voice makes you forget about whatever you are doing. I added “Lilicas” and “Hurricane” to my playlist!

4. Supper Club

You know the music that makes you want to go outside and explore? That’s how I would describe Supper Club. Their newest drop, “The Trilogy”, is guaranteed to have your next favorite coffee shop song.

5. Alvin Garrett

Grammy-nominated songwriter and musician Alvin Garrett will swoon you with his soul-filled R&B tunes. His lyrics are deep and meaningful, plus his most streamed song, “By Myself”, features another Birmingham native, Ruben Studdard.

6. Anna Grace Beatty

Anna Grace Beatty’s whimsical voice is perfect for your slow mornings. Her Alabama roots shine through her music, which I would describe as “country meets soft indie-pop”.

7. Love Moor

R&B artist Love Moor is a proud Birmingham native. Moor pours her soul out into her music while expressing her Caribbean roots. Looking for a good dancing song? Check out her new single “Gentle”.

8. Walker Burroughs

Walker Burrough wowed the judges of American Idol so much that he made it to the Elite Eight in Season 17. Although he now lives in Nashville, he is a Birmingham native who makes trips to back to the Magic City often—most recently playing for The World Games 2022.

9. Early James

Inspired by Hank Williams, Early James gives us an old country feeling with a touch of rock n’ roll. His album, “Strange Time To Be Alive”, came out in August and is a must-listen for all folk fans.

10. Joell Regal

Joell is regal—not only because it’s her last name, but also because it is the perfect way to describe her voice. Her music is a mix of soul and hip hop with a sprinkle of folk. Although she hasn’t released new music in awhile, she still performs in the Magic City often.
