Reading time: 2 minutes
Vestavia Hills is the perfect place to explore for endless food and drink options, and now, two more restaurants are headed your way, Birmingham! Keep reading to find out all the delicious details.
Spicing up Vestavia Hills
Mexican food is a staple, and Vestavia Hills is making sure there is an abundance of it! Renovation has begun to bring Mama Coco Cantina and Grill to the Hills.
Mama Coco first opened in Calera, December of 2020. While the business is only a few years old, patrons love the authentic dishes so much, a secondary location is in the works.
Location + Hours
Mama Coco will be replacing the Metro Diner, a Florida-based chain, which closed in 2019. While the space has sat empty for several years, 1088 Montgomery Highway is about to come to life.
According to the Vestavia Voice, Mama Coco will be open during these hours:
- Sunday-Wednesday 11AM-9PM
- Thursday-Saturday 11AM-10PM
The Palm & Pig
We are excited to see how this space will be transformed into The Palm & Pig.
Anyone thinking it will be BBQ?
Mama Coco isn’t the only restaurant headed this way. Doug Smith, part owner of Saw’s Juke Joint, is opening up the Palm & Pig, replacing the Backyard Market.
While the opening dates are yet to be revealed, we are looking forward to seeing these restaurants become a part of the community.
