Everything you love about the classic + more
In this show, Cinderella receives a makeover with a clever retelling and contemporary take on the classic tale we all know and love. Here’s a quick rundown of what to expect from Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella at Red Mountain Theatre:
The smart and determined “Ella” lives in the care of her self-absorbed stepmother and two stepsisters, Charlotte and Gabrielle.
Meanwhile, Prince Topher is trying to find himself and learn his place in the kingdom. When his scheming advisor suggests throwing a ball for the Prince to meet potential brides, Ella and Topher’s *very* different worlds collide.
The updated and bolder Cinderella offers a story that is inspirational, empowering, hilarious and romantic. It’s the story you love with refreshing new twists!
“In this newer version, ‘Ella’ is able to rely on her own strength and opinions in more than the way some other versions of Cinderella have painted her so that has been so refreshing and so exciting to explore.”
Mariel Ardila, Ella

Bold characters
One of the main differences in this show from the classic is the depth of the other characters’ stories. Obviously, we get a good look into Cinderella’s story, but we really get to see the stories of the stepsisters come alive too.
“Gabrielle isn’t necessarily the mean stepsister like she was in the classic. It’s cool that she has a different story with her own love interest. I’ve loved getting to explore branching out and being my own independent girl, making my own story.”
Delaney Benson, Gabrielle (stepsister)
The big picture
There are so many lessons to be learned from this amazing story. From love to family and friendship, everyone who sees the show is sure feel inspired on their way home.
“I think the biggest lesson here is that kindness through it all makes you stronger. When Ella takes that initiative to say ‘I forgive you’ without being vindictive or vengeful, she’s given the upper hand and really becomes the true hero.”
Myiesha J. Duff, Charlotte (stepsister)
For Gabriel Bernal, playing Topher in the show, he hopes Cinderella inspires the audience to find the beauty in the everyday things and truly romanticize life.
Right now, it can be so difficult to be appreciative of the little things when there’s so much to be disappointed in. I hope people leave this show reminded that beauty and success look completely different to everyone, you just have to find it.
Gabriel Bernal, Prince Topher
Fun for the whole family
Cinderella at Red Mountain Theatre is the perfect summer night activity for all ages. It’s family friendly, but has a storyline deeper and more meaningful than a typical children’s show. Anyone will enjoy this amazing production. Come see for yourself!
“It’s a family show. It’s not directly for just one certain age group. I think every demographic that comes is going to find something relatable, something funny, something to enjoy. There are no swear words, no slip ups, no vulgar movements or hidden innuendos. You can be confident and proud to bring your children to see this pure and funny show.”
