What’s a progressive dinner?

Great question! A progressive dinner is a festive evening of dining out at a different spot for each course. We believe Five Points South has some of the best dining options. The best part—it’s all walkable.

1. Single-bite hors d’oeuvres

OPTION #1: To start your night off right in Five Points South, order the cheesy biscuits at Jim N Nick’s, a classic hors d’oeuvres dish.

OPTION #2: Not a fan of the carbs? Head across the street to Ikko and grab steamed edamame, the best combo of sweet, umami and nutty flavors.

2. Best salad goes to…

OPTION #1: A nod towards pop-punk song titles from the 2000s, the “my ex-girlfriend’s sister’s salad” wins the best name for sure. This salad from Black Market is topped with fried chicken, tomatoes and avocado and will make this outing a “day to remember.”

OPTION #2: Head over to T-Bone’s Authentic Phillystyle Cheesesteaks and Hoagies for the jerked chicken salad, a mix of bell peppers, onions and chicken in Jamaician jerk sauce. YUM!

3. The must-try Five Points South entrée

OPTION #1: Order a slice of the iconic pepporoni pizza from Little Italy. This is also one of the best hang outs spots for local live music, if you’re looking for a chill vibe.

OPTION #2: Head to Bay Leaf in Five Points South for Dhaba chicken curry made of coconut milk, onions and tomatoes. This isn’t your mama’s curry.

4. Thirsty?

OPTION #1: You can’t have a night out in Five Points South without sipping on a few fun drinks. Dave’s Pub fulfills all your whiskey needs with over 100 whiskeys there’s something for everyone.

OPTION #2: If you’re planning on going out on a Thursday the Sleek Sports Bar has Karaoke night and half-priced drinks, including draft beer.

5. Last, but not least, dessert

We all know cookies are a MUST when it comes to dessert. Spice it up a little with the cookiewich, creamy ice cream wedged between two of your favorite cookies. Our choice—double chocolate chip mint cookies with vanilla ice cream.
