The World Games 2022 announced the lineup of artists for the Closing Ceremony presented by Coca-Cola UNITED this morning, and let’s just say it won’t disappoint. Keep reading for the star-studded lineup!
Coming home
The World Games 2022 CEO Nick Sellers announced Lionel Richie as the featured artist at the Closing Ceremony on July 17. The Tuskegee-native is set to return to his home state and headline the Ceremony presented by Coca Cola at Protective Stadium.
This will be Richie’s first performance in his home state in over twenty years.

The lineup
To close out the 11-day event, Richie will be joined by a group of iconic performers from the state of Alabama, including:
- the legendary band Alabama
- a duet between Blind Boys of Alabama and Jamey Johnson
- Alabama’s American Idols Taylor Hicks, Ruben Studdard, and Bo Bice
- Martha Reeves performing “Dancing in the Streets”
- The Voice’s Worth The Wait
- gospel musician & Stellar Award winner Pastor Mike Jr.
- rising rap star Yung Bleu
