Mountain Brook, get ready—a brand-new women’s leisurewear boutique is opening in English Village this May. We spoke with Mountain Brook resident Allyson Mouron, co-owner of Bossi Leisure, to get an inside look.

Originally from Montgomery, Allyson Mouron attended The University of Alabama and moved to Mountain Brook with her husband, a native of the over-the-mountain suburb. Her journey to opening Bossi Leisure began in 30A after she experienced a workout studio with an attached boutique of curated athletic and leisurewear.

Her dream of opening a leisurewear boutique in Birmingham only grew, and after speaking with the owner of BOSSI in Tuscaloosa, she moved forward with opening the English Village storefront. The store is scheduled to open in mid-May.

“I wanted it to feel elevated and polished so that when people come into the store, they can buy leggings, a sports bra and a top. They can also layer it with other pieces that make them feel put together so that after they work out, they can go have lunch out or go from the court playing tennis to cocktails if they want to.”

“English Village is just the spot right now.”

Clearly, English Village is a hub for new growth in Birmingham. In January, we announced that Tonya Jones would be opening a new restaurant in English Village and Key Circle Commons, a lounge concept from brick and tin, opened in February.

Bossi Leisure is joining a growing list of exciting new businesses.

“To me, English Village is just the spot right now. I feel like there’s so much energy, so much excitement that’s happening over there. The people who have opened up stores and a cocktail lounge and a restaurant are just fun and young, and a lot of them are women too. I just feel like like it’s a great place to be and fits the vision of my store.”

What you can expect

Here’s a look at the lines you’ll be able to find at the new store:

  • ALO
  • Spiritual Gangster
  • 9 Seed
  • Stateside
  • Leallo
  • 525
  • Suburban Riot
  • Free People Movement
  • SET
  • BOSSI

Bossi Leisure won’t only be a spot to buy the latest trends or refresh your athleisure, though. Allyson has big plans to make it a place where the community connects, with pop-ups and book talks.

“I want to be a place where we’re able to meet the needs of everyone as far as activewear and leisurewear is concerned. But more than that, I want to be a hub for the community. I want this to be a place where the community feels supported.”
