The third ThirsTea location is on the way, and this time, Helena is in the spotlight. Located in the Walmart shopping center, this new shop will be central to Helena, whether you’re looking for a sweet treat after running some errands or want to make this your weekend destination.

The Anguianos, Hugo and Delanie, have successfully opened two locations of ThirsTea Cafe in Inverness and The Pizitz, and they’re not looking to stop now.

Hugo was especially drawn to Helena due to the people and community feel.

“We like Helena because of how nice the community is overall. It’s not just a city, it’s a big community where everybody knows everybody and it’s cool to be a part of something like that.”

-Hugo Anguiano, Owner, ThirsTea Cafe, as quoted in the Shelby County Reporter

A special menu for a special place

According to the Shelby County Reporter, Hugo is looking forward to expanding to Helena and will be offering close to 40 drinks, so you could try a different combination every time.

However, the best part is that they will be debuting brand new menu items including popular poké bowls (a customizable bowl usually make with rice, fish and other savory toppings) and Taiwanese shaved ice.

We’d be lying if we didn’t say that new menu items like angel ice don’t excite us, especially since they’re the only place in Alabama that serves it, according to Hugo.

“I think we’ll be the only place in Alabama that has angel ice, and the flavors will change throughout the season.”

Plus, they’re inviting the Helena community to sit and stay awhile by hosting game nights, book clubs, a library and Dungeons and Dragons Night. Their goal? To truly get to know the people that drink their tea.

They’re looking to open mid-May—very soon in our book.
