Event Details: Birmingham Stallions vs. New Jersey Generals, April 16th
- What: USFL’s Inaugural Season kickoff, New Jersey Generals vs. Birmingham Stallions
- Where: Protective Stadium, 1020 24th Street North, Birmingham, AL 35203
- When: Saturday, April 16th from 6:30PM to 10PM (Kickoff times are subject to change)
- Tickets: Purchase tickets via Ticketmaster or the BJCC Central Ticket Office, which will be open two hours prior to kickoff. Kids under 15 admitted free (limit three children per one ticketed adult).
Ready to see the USFL kick off their inaugural season? This once-in-a-lifetime event is going to be the biggest game in town, PLUS it’ll be televised live on NBC and FOX.
Fun Fact: This will be the first time a scheduled sports competition has aired at the same time on two competitive networks since Super Bowl I aired on NBC and CBS on January 15th, 1967.

Meet the USFL, America’s Newest Football League
Birmingham, there’s a new Pro Football team in town. The USFL is a brand-new American Football league headquartered right here in The Magic City.
The USFL consists of eight teams from across the country:
- Birmingham Stallions
- Houston Gamblers
- Michigan Panthers
- New Jersey Generals
- New Orleans Breakers
- Philadelphia Stars
- Pittsburgh Maulers
- Tampa Bay Bandits
Earlier this year, we learned some very exciting news: all USFL regular season games would be played right here in Birmingham, Alabama! With 40 games scheduled at Protective Stadium and Legion Field, Birmingham is in for an impressive season of football.

Pro Tip: Plan ahead for Parking
Parking in Uptown can seem intimidating—especially when there is a big event in town—but don’t worry, it’s easier than you think!
All lots are pay on-site on the day of the game. $10 parking is available in the Green Lot.
