1. JP Morgan Chase | First Birmingham Branch
JP Morgan Chase has officially started building out their first Birmingham branch. Located on 20th St., this new spot was announced by the company in 2019, but was recently approved for Branch Establishment. According to an article from the Birmingham Business Journal, it will feature an open concept area, self-service transaction areas, a digital access bar, smart ATMs and free WiFi. Chase customers will also have access to the Chase Private Client team, financial and home lending advisors and business banking relationship managers.
Birmingham’s high traffic and growth is what appealed to the company and why they chose to put their first Alabama branch in Birmingham. PS—they’re hiring.

Their storefront is officially opening on Tuesday, February 8 in Pelham and you don’t want to miss it. The itinerary? Breakfast pies from 7AM-12PM, lunch pies from 12PM-4PM and dessert pies all day, of course. Salad options will also be available.
Starting off in their kitchen in 2018 and having built their fabulous reputations and farmer’s markets and local pop ups, Mama Suz has been frying up her pies for Birminghamians for over four years using local fruits and vegetables. Let’s congratulate them on their accomplishment!

Closing time—we’re sad to see Golden Rule in Pelham close
Golden Rule in Pelham has officially closed their doors. This update was posted to Facebook regarding both the Pelham and Helena locations.
“With much sadness I have to let everyone know that I have to close the Golden Rule BBQ in Pelham and Helena. We have never been able to recover from all of the various impacts that the last two years have put on the company….I don’t know what God has for me after I complete this painful closing but I do know that He has me and He has you, too.”
– Golden Rule BBQ, Facebook
Whether you have been 20 times or had never stepped foot inside, the Helena and Pelham communities are feeling the loss. While we’re sad to see the locations go, we’re excited for what’s to come for the Golden Rule team.
That’s all we’ve got for now, Birmingham! Be sure to turn on post notifications on our Instagram so you never miss a thing.
