Bringing hope and joy to families across Central Alabama
CFBCA is a nonprofit organization that is always on a mission to feed people in need and end community hunger by providing 12 counties across Central Alabama more access to food. The CFBCA team is made up of several individuals that include:
- Generous donors
- Selfless volunteers

Their goal for this holiday season is to serve more families and households than previous years. In 2019, the Food Bank gave 2,500 holiday food boxes then distributed 9,000 more boxes the following year—making the total 11,500 boxes in 2020. This year’s program began in mid-November for Thanksgiving and will continue until the New Year.
Here’s what is in the box and where you can get one this season
The holiday food boxes will contain more than 24 pounds of food items fit to feed a family of four or five for 5-7 days. The boxes are specialized to include:
- Corn
- Green beans
- Mac & Cheese
- Sweet potatoes
- Chicken or turkey
All food items were donated from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the community. Distribution of the boxes will operate on a first-come, first-served basis and follow a drive-through process. The Food Bank is open to any and everyone in need of food assistance.
