When you spend most of your time at work, it’s important to work for a company that shares the same values as you. That’s why Renee Louallen has been a member of the La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries of Birmingham family for almost 20 years. From completing people’s homes with beautiful furniture to serving local nonprofits, Renee exemplifies the family atmosphere of La-Z-Boy.

Renee Louallen serves others with a smile

If you spend just a few minutes with Renee Louallen, you’ll leave smiling. Why? Because her positive energy is contagious. That’s especially true when she talks about her favorite memories at La-Z-Boy. After working with the company for over 20 years, she has plenty of memories that stand out.

From helping families add that special touch to their homes with furniture to spending time with coworkers outside of the showroom, Renee loves the fellowship that comes with working in La-Z-Boy’s tight-knit environment.

“One of my fondest memories is closing down all six stores and going to the zoo. We had lunch and talked and saw animals.

It’s always fun when you can have that fellowship with people you work with and get to know them outside of work.”

By working in the sales design department, Renee is able to get to know each customer who comes in. Customers don’t just leave with furniture that will complete their spaces—they leave with a friend in Renee.

“A long time ago, a salesman told me people buy from people. I enjoy meeting people and working with them to fulfill what they dream up for in their homes.”

When the employees at La-Z-Boy say they love investing their time in their community, they mean it. La-Z-Boy is passionate about giving back to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama, where they can provide comfort to the families staying in the House by serving delicious meals and furnishing the rooms.

Renee’s most rewarding memory at La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries of Birmingham is going to the House and feeding the people staying there.

“The whole company went as a family and we fed the people living there. That’s one of my most rewarding memories because we were serving. I love to serve people, so that meant a lot to me.”
