Read on for our 5 can’t-miss fall activities in Lake Guntersville.

Lake Guntersville is a hidden gem. Clocking in at just about 2 hours north of Birmingham, it’s an easy drive for a weekend escape, fall break or even just a fun day trip. The picturesque fall foliage doesn’t hurt for getting into the festive spirit, either. So, grab your favorite snacks, fire up a new playlist and hit the road for a fall trip you won’t soon forget.

1. Zip line through Lake Guntersville 🍂

Lake Guntersville has plenty of gorgeous scenery, but one of my personal favorites is the signature Lake Guntersville State Park. While there is lots of exploring to be done within the park and plenty of activities to choose from, one you can’t miss is zip lining.

Don’t forget, Lake Guntersville is THE place to spot bald eagles, so it’s only appropriate to experience the landscape from their perspective. You can choose from multiple zip line packages to find the one that’s best for you and your crew. It’s the ultimate way to get up close and personal with some serious fall foliage.

2. Pick the perfect pumpkin 🎃

Nothing says fall like a pumpkin patch and hay rides. Well, Cornutt Farms has all that and more—the farm also offers a petting zoo, corn dig, tractor playground, big truck turbo slide, bouncy house, cow trains and more! Sounds like an unmatched spot for some family fall fun.

The farm is open to the public every Friday and Saturday in October, and your admission includes all of the activities listed above, plus a few surprises. This is a must-do on your Lake Guntersville itinerary.

3. Football + beer = perfect fall day 🏈

It wouldn’t be a southern fall guide without a little football. Locals and guests alike love to watch the Tide roll and cheer on the Tigers at Main Channel Brewing.

They’re serving up a wide range of ales, IPAs and more. But, don’t forget about the food. The brewery hosts some tasty food trucks on rotation, including Homecoming Sideshow. This one is especially popular with the locals and features all our favorite signature Southern flavors kicked up a notch.

4. Cuddle up at Sand Mountain Twin Drive In 🍿

Break out the cozy blankets, warm hoodies and fuzzy socks for Sand Mountain Twin Drive In Theatre. It’s the perfect place to spend a crisp, fall evening.

The theatre rotates films regularly, so there’s sure to be something for everyone. They’re also celebrating “Horrorthon” on October 16, so get ready for a marathon of spooky favorites.

The best part? It’s affordable, too. You can catch your favorite fall film for only $15 per car.

5. Rent your own cozy cabin

For the coziest Lake Guntersville fall experience, consider renting your own cabin. I mean, who wouldn’t want to wake up to a perfect fall morning?

With a wide range of lodging options, there’s truly something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a romantic, intimate cabin or a house big enough for the whole family to enjoy, they’ve got you covered.
