Life Touch Massage is a local spa and massage boutique that provides affordable services for individuals in the Magic City—especially the downtown area.

This innovative spa is made up of a team of five massage therapy extraordinaires including the CEO and Founder, Lemar Storey. Starting in 2005, Storey provided mobile services, but his vision for his business grew bigger.

“I was inspired to start this business due to the lack of massage services in the African American community. It was my experience working in a spa setting that massage was a health benefit to the Black community that the majority were not aware of.“

Storey and his team have been in business since 2010 and later expanded to a storefront in 2017. The storefront is located on Second Avenue South. Why Second Avenue South?

“There are no other day spas in the city center area. We wanted to be the go-to spa destination for all those who work, live, play and travel to downtown Birmingham.”

Did you notice how Storey said “we”? He emphasized the importance of having a team in this industry. Storey told us how important it was to have not just employees or contract workers but business professionals like bankers, lawyers and accountants who have a shared interest in your business’ success.

More than a massage

The best thing about being a business owner in Birmingham for Storey is providing jobs and educating his community on the benefits of massage. His goal is to be a staple in the community for holistic health.

He aims to expand to a wellness center that offers services including yoga, mental health counseling and more.
