Cue the fireworks! Fourth of July weekend is finally here. To keep you celebrating that red, white and blue around Birmingham, here are the top 10 events, June 2-4, that are sure to light your sparkler.

1. It’s American, it’s a blast!

Your Independence Day fun begins Friday, July 2 at The Backyard in Leeds during the All American Blast! Grab your fam, friends and dog and enjoy live music, face painting + balloon art, food + drinks, movies and a HUGE firework show. The festivities kick off at Noon. Tickets are $10-$15

2. Batter up!

It can’t get more American than baseball. During your July 4th weekend, swing by the Linn-Henley Gallery at Vulcan Park & Museum for their latest exhibit—From Factory to Field: The Dream of Baseball in Birmingham. Here’s what you’ll discover

3. No strikes here

Speaking of baseball, the bases will be loaded July 2-4 at Regions Field. The Birmingham Barons hit the mound for some great games, a salute to the Negro Leagues and post-game fireworks. More info

5. Wallet ready?

You’ll want to use it this Saturday, July 3 in Lane Park. This sweet spot in Mountain Brook will be hosting their Summer Pop Up Series from 11AM-3PM, so prepare to shop and dine with your fave local businesses and even discover new ones along the way. 

6. A good time for all

If seeing fireworks is soon your Fourth of July weekend agenda, make plans to attend Fire on the Water at Oak Mountain State Park. While you await the BIG show, grab some food from local vendors, enjoy the music and check out the family-friendly activities. The event begins at 5PM. Tickets are $15, but Pelham residents get them for $10. Learn more.

7. Sing your heart out

Are the songs from Hamilton still stuck in your head? Join the Hamiltunes Singalong at Wild Roast on Saturday, July 3 and sing your heart out. Attend from 6-9:30PM. Tickets are $10

8. Moonshine for free

Moonshine Outlaws Band takes to the patio at Tin Roof with live music from Noon-4PM on Sunday, July 4. Be sure to order some food and drinks while your enjoy the show. No cover charge.

9. Eyes to the sky

Thunder on the Mountain is back at Vulcan Park & Museum this July 4 with one of The Magic City’s most beloved firework shows. At 9PM, the Birmingham skyline erupts in a colorful display of booms that’s perfectly choreographed to a stellar musical playlist. More info

10. Food + drinks with a view

The BBQ & View is the perfect spot to watch Vulcan Park & Museum’s fireworks show Thunder on the Mountain this Sunday, July 4. From 4-10PM, check out the city’s most popular food trucks, local vendors, a beer garden with cocktail bar and live music. Be sure to bring your lawn chairs for optimal seating. Admission is FREE. Register so they’ll know you’re coming.
