Summer heat leads to ice cream cravings. Where can you find the best in Bama? According to Food & Wine, the answer is Big Spoon Creamery in Birmingham.
Ice cream—it’s essential
Food & Wine is no stranger to surveying—and taste testing—food and desserts across the country. But with a boom of ice cream shops on nearly every corner, how did they manage to choose just one creamery per state?
According to the article, the decision was “almost too difficult.” So instead of focusing on old or new ice cream shops, they focused on “what feels essential.”
Props to you, Big Spoon Creamery, you’re officially an Alabama essential! How cool is that?
You can find Big Spoon Creamery first on the list. Okay, so the list is in alphabetical order, which puts Alabama at the tippy top. But let’s be real, in our hearts, Big Spoon Creamery deserves the top No. 1 spot.
