Nonstop BHM flights to DC and Houston resuming on Southwest

Birmingham just got a little closer to the Washington Monument. Southwest Airlines is resuming flights to Baltimore/DC and Houston from the Magic City, and I’m ready to pack my bags. Keep reading for more on how to reach two of America’s most exciting cities right here from BHM.

Here’s Southwest’s official announcement, with daily flights and ticket details from our friends at the Birmingham Airport Authority.

Southwest will reinstate daily nonstop flights from Birmingham to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) and Houston William P. Hobby International Airport (HOU) beginning on November 6, 2021. Southwest will utilize a Boeing 737 aircraft with 143 seats for the daily routes.

The new Baltimore/DC flight schedule is as follows:

Birmingham to Baltimore/Washington (BWI)
Monday/Thursday/Friday: 7:15 AM – 10:10 AM
Tuesday/Wednesday: 7:15 AM – 10:10 AM
Saturday: 11:00 AM – 1:55 PM
Sunday: 1:05 PM – 3:55 PM

Baltimore/Washington (BWI) to Birmingham
Monday/Thursday/Friday: 7:35 PM – 8:45 PM
Tuesday/Wednesday: 6:15 PM – 7:25 PM
Saturday: 1:20 PM – 2:30 PM
Sunday: 3:55 PM – 5:05 PM

We’re also one step closer to the lone star state! Here’s the flight schedule for Houston:

Birmingham to Houston (HOU)
Monday/Thursday/Friday: 6:50 PM – 8:50 PM
Tuesday/Wednesday: 5:45 PM – 7:45 PM
Saturday: 7:10 AM – 9:10 AM
Sunday: 6:00 AM – 8:05 AM & 6:45 PM – 8:45 PM

Houston (HOU) to Birmingham
Monday/Thursday/Friday: 4:50 PM – 6:20 PM
Tuesday/Wednesday: 2:45 PM – 4:20 PM
Saturday: 3:50 PM – 5:20 PM
Sunday: 10:40 AM – 12:15 PM & 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM

Adding even more flights
