There’s no shortage of delicious beverages in the city’s bar, restaurant and coffee shop scene, but who has the most unique drinks in Birmingham? I searched high and low to find the yummiest drinks in town that I’ve never tasted before. Here’s what I discovered (and delightfully consumed):

1. One Pit Wonder at Queens Park

This new-to-the-menu boozy little number tastes like cherry cola…minus the cola. Made with bourbon, Italian digestivo, cherry and molasses, this not-too-sweet libation is perfect for anyone whose go-to order is typically a whiskey coke. I love a cocktail moment that surprises me from the first sip!

  • Where to find it: Queen’s Park, 112 24th St N #102, Birmingham, AL 35203
  • Hours: Sun, Tues.-Thur. 4PM-12AM | Fri-Sat. 4PM-2AM | Mon – CLOSED
  • Price: $11

2. Cereal Milk Latte at Filter Coffee Parlor

If you miss watching Saturday morning cartoons in your footies pajamas with a big bowl of your favorite cereal (let’s hear it for Captain Crunch!), the Cereal Milk Latte from Filter Coffee Parlor is for you. The rotating cereal milk flavors add a distinct bottom-of-the-cereal bowl creaminess to your usual latte, without being too sweet. You can order it hot, but I recommend getting it iced for the ultimate cereal milk experience.

3. PB&J Shot at Neon Moon

The best way I can describe this shot is it’s like taking a bite of a classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich without any of the chewing. A staple of the new honky-tonk bar concept by the creators behind Queen’s Park, this shot is peanut-forward, go down smooth, with a sweet-tart grape jelly finish.

  • Where to find it: Neon Moon, 2316 2nd Ave N, Birmingham, AL 35203
  • Hours: Tuesday-Sunday 4PM-2AM | Monday – CLOSED
  • Price: $6

4. Butterfly in a Lavender Field Kombucha at Harvest Roots Ferments

Probably my favorite kombucha, this fermented concoction is made with subtle French lavender, yuzu citrus, butterfly pea and 15mg CBD distillate. That’s right—CBD. You’ll make your gut happy while also enjoying some always much-needed zen.

5. Midnight Margarita at Watkins Branch Bourbon and Brasserie

This spicy-sweet maragrita is brand new to this favorite Mountain Brook Village establishment. Made with Casaigos tequila, house-made blueberry jalapeno simple syrup purree and citrus juice, this is far from your average margarita and perfect for summer.
