Alabama Fire is a women’s professional football team that was established and developed in 2016, and it’s made up of former Birmingham high school and college sports stars. Head Coach Cedric Lane has 25 years of coaching experience, and each member of the team brings talent and passion.

Alabama Fire is a member of the Women’s National Football Conference. The WNFC was founded in 2018, and they’ve already become one of the fastest-growing sports brands in the country. The WNFC follows the same rules as the NFL, so you’ll know what’s going on even if this is your first time watching Alabama Fire play.

I reached out to Cedric to learn more about what we can expect at the game.

“One of our players, Kelli Smith, is a UAB graduate who rushed 173 yards and had 3 touchdowns in our game last Saturday. Our starting quarterback Niecey Smith is a Hall of Fame inductee from Walker County. We also have Rashida Young, who was our leading receiver last year. Shardonay Jenkins went to Oak Mountain High School and is an All-American.

These players will be really exciting to watch.”

The 2021 Alabama Fire season schedule began on May 1 in Mississippi and runs through June. Their home games are May 8, May 22 and June 26, so you have multiple chances to check them out.
