Birmingham has a little bit of everything opening, from acai bowls to a new sour room. Here’s what’s on the up and up in and around the Magic City.

1. City Bowls
Healthy and yummy, beloved food truck City Bowls is opening their second brick-and-mortar at Trace Crossings in Hoover. It’s always fun to hunt down your favorite food truck, but it’s just as exciting to know there will be multiple locations to find the Bham Bowl (with pitaya, almond milk, peanut butter, strawberries, whey protein and more), Ah-Sigh-E Bowl and more.
2. Avondale Sour Room
It’s here! After a soft opening on April 29, Avondale’s Sour Tasting Room is up and running. The well anticipated new room at Avondale Brewing is already a huge hit. They’re serving up all of your favorite sours, like the Avondale Rouge along with five others you’ll be wise to try.

3. Taproot Cafe
Owned by former NFL player Reggie Tobor and his wife Michelle, Taproot Cafe opened on April 30. Located in Hoover, Taproot was a huge hit during its soft opening in April. The cafe serves up locally-sourced, farm-to-table meals that make you feel as good as they taste.
4. Bandwagon
Arriving soon on 18th Street in Homewood, Bandwagon is a sporting goods store that primarily focuses on baseball and softball gear. Family owned and operated, the store has been working out of a temporary location while they await their new place.
5. Kemp’s Kitchen
Trussville’s beloved Kemp’s Kitchen is adding a downtown Birmingham location. The new location opens in just six days bringing a menu bursting with excellent dishes. From rice bowls and wraps to wings and burgers, plus a breakfast menu, Kemp’s Kitchen will be a great addition to downtown Birmingham dining.
