Break out those cowboy boots and denim cut-offs—a new honky-tonk bar and event venue is coming to Parkside in Birmingham, AL!
The currently unnamed establishment will be located in the historic American Laundry Co. building at 1630 Second Ave. S. The space will feature a restaurant, cocktail bar, music venue, private dining and party rooms—and plenty of country music to tap your toes to.
The two-story, 30,000-square-foot historic space was aquired by O’Neal Industries. The estimated $5 million project will be an integral part of Downtown Birmingham’s restoration and revitalization, lead by David Schneider of Schneider Historic Preservation.
Other major players in the project include:
- Creature’s Mike Gibson and Geoff Golden as architect and general contractor.
- Award-winning chef Chris Hastings of Hot & Hot Fish Club as food, beverage and restaurant design consultant.
- Michael Panepento, the owner of Alabama Music & Audio Supervision and former COO and founding member of Workplay, as consultant for the music venue design.
The new hony-tonk venture will sit within walking distance to other local Birmingham favorites such as The Red Cat @ Railroad Park, Hero Doughnuts & Buns and Railroad Park.
With other late-night establishments like Good People Brewing Co. and Monday Night Social Club just a stone’s throw away, a honky-tonk bar and event venue will be a lively addition to Birmingham’s night life scene.
