Why these transfer students chose BSC
Logan Lowery
Logan Lowery decided to pursue music at BSC after one year at Jeff State. He worked with the entire music faculty to design his degree program and is receiving a Bachelor in Musical Arts, studying the Cognitive Perception of Music in Media.
The general curriculum at BSC is so wonderfully designed to provide every student with a wide academic net and diversified tool belt. That resonated with my mindset and connected with my ambitions. I have one year left at BSC and can barely sit still with all of the opportunities and possibilities provided to me at this school.
Logan Lowery, Bachelor in Musical Arts, BSC
Drew Rhea
Drew Rhea transferred to BSC after seeing the close bonds her sister had made during her time as a student. After studying at Gadsden State Community College, Drew decided to take the step of applying to a 4-year college that would help her thrive.
Drew’s experience as a transfer student helped shape her identity at BSC. She participates in “Transfer Tuesdays” with the Admissions Department to speak with transfer students and answer their questions.
I’m encouraged to apply what I learn in the “real world” each day, and education here is much more than just what you’re taught during a two-hour lecture. BSC has completely lived up to what it advertises, and I am very blessed to be a part of this community and have the opportunities that I do.
Drew Rhea, psychology major, BSC
Tericka Sanders
After earning an Associate of Science from Lawson State Community College, Tericka considered online programs at other universities, but she decided that BSC’s in-person program would be more beneficial for her.
BSC’s articulation agreements mean that students can continue their education at a college that truly cares about their success.
Transferring to Birmingham-Southern has reignited a confidence in myself that, at one point, remained tucked away. As a non-traditional student, I was skeptical about how I would fit in on campus; the people I have encountered have been extremely receptive and my classmates have been awesome.
Tericka Sanders, sociology major, BSC
