Nonstop BHM to Motown flights resuming on Delta Air Lines

I don’t know about you, but when I heard Delta Air Lines is resuming nonstop flights between the Magic City and Detroit, I started humming Diana Ross & The Supremes and Stevie Wonder tunes.

Here is the official announcement, with daily flights and ticket details from our friends at the Birmingham Airport Authority.

Nonstop service between Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) and Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) begins Thursday, March 4, 2021. The airline will use a Canadair RJ 700 aircraft for the reinstated daily service. 

Tickets are on sale now at delta.com.  

The new Detroit flight schedule is as follows:

Birmingham to Detroit

Departs:  6:05AM

Arrives:    9:12AM

Detroit to Birmingham 

Departs:   9:05PM

Arrives:   10:05PM

In other words, Motown here we come!

Mathieu, Birmingham Airport Authority President and CEO. “We are grateful for our ongoing partnership with Delta and we’re thankful that our customers will be able to enjoy safe and efficient daily service between Birmingham and Detroit.”

This will be Delta Air Lines’ third nonstop flight in Birmingham. Besides Detroit, the other two nonstop Delta flight are to Atlanta and New York LaGuardia

The Birmingham to Detroit flights are the second new nonstop fight announcement from the Birmingham Airport Authority in 2021. Earlier this year, American Airlines started back up with nonstop flights between Birmingham and Washington, D.C.
