From mid-century modern finds to antique accents, these six local interior design and decor shops have some of the most inspiring selections around.

1. Design Supply

Design Supply is 9,000 sq. ft. of pure magic. I recently visited their shop for the first time and could have spent hours admiring the fully-designed vignettes donned with unique furniture pieces and artwork all hand-picked by owner Laura Vogtle. Their selection includes all things interior—fine furniture, antiques, rugs, light fixtures, home decor and more.

2. Maison Shoppe

Recently featured as a “must-visit” by Vogue, we have to say, we agree. This Mountain Brook gem carefully curates pieces from all over the world. A mix of classic antiques and more modern fixtures, Pam Evan’s Maison is making its mark on the Magic City’s interior market.

With a constant rotation of eclectic decor and home furnishings, there’s always something new to find at Urban Home Market. Inside their 17,000 sq. ft. space at The Village at Lee Branch, you’ll find everything from modern coffee tables and sofas to unique light fixtures and large artworks.

5. Henhouse Antiques

I visited this shop a couple of years ago when I first moved to Birmingham, and am still in awe of their selection. Everything you see in their shop is personally selected by owners Barbara Ashford and Judy Hill, as well as their daughters, Laura Ashford Gessert and Libby Hill McGowan. They’ve operated their English Village storefront for 20+ years, and their collection is the type that never goes out of style.

If your style is classic with a mix of modern, you’ll love Circa Interiors. They have two locations—one in Birmingham and one in Charlotte, NC—and both offer one-of-a-kind furniture pieces as well as other objects and accents. Want to see more of their selection?
