From mid-century modern finds to antique accents, these six local interior design and decor shops have some of the most inspiring selections around.

1. Design Supply

Design Supply is 9,000 sq. ft. of pure magic. I recently visited their shop for the first time and could have spent hours admiring the fully-designed vignettes donned with unique furniture pieces and artwork all hand-picked by owner Laura Vogtle. Their selection includes all things interior—fine furniture, antiques, rugs, light fixtures, home decor and more.

I visited this shop a couple of years ago when I first moved to Birmingham, and am still in awe of their selection. Everything you see in their shop is personally selected by owners Barbara Ashford and Judy Hill, as well as their daughters, Laura Ashford Gessert and Libby Hill McGowan. They’ve operated their English Village storefront for 20+ years, and their collection is the type that never goes out of style.
