5 Birmingham locals get crafty for Valentine’s Day with glow-in-the-dark glass hearts + more
From paper hearts to homemade cards, Valentine’s Day is a time to let out your craft side. Here are five local Birmingham creatives doing just that.
1. Amy Soverow
During the Valentine’s season, you’ll often find some sort of incredible heart-shaped glass creation by talented Birmingham resident Amy Soverow.
This year is no exception. Here are three of Amy’s Valentine items:
Message Heart Magnets
Bypass those chalky candy hearts with messages on them and opt for the much cooler magnet version.
Price: $10
Glowing Portable Hearts
The coolest part is that each heart glows in the dark. Just set it under any light (daylight, lamp, flashlight) and let it charge. When ready, they provide six hours of glowing beauty.
Price: $10 each
Trinket Bowls
Made with two layers of glass and formed into the shape of a heart, these trinket bowls are the perfect place to hold your message heart magnets and glowing portable hearts.
Price: $25 each
The specialness of these heart-shaped goodies doesn’t stop there. Amy teamed up with Sojourns Fair-Trade in Crestwood to sell her glass creations for a good cause. Part of the proceeds from every purchase are donated to Magic City Acceptance.
