Behind Sons Donuts in Avondale

Ryan and Geri-Martah O’Hara, founders of Big Spoon Creamery, and Jim and Amy Watkins, founders of Steel City Pops, were already friends when they decided to make the transition to business partners. And it’s all thanks to a love of fun food creations.

“We’ve been working on this concept for three plus years, and we’re so excited to finally be bringing it to fruition. It’s a very interactive experience where guests can choose the perfect flavor combination from our unique offerings of sugars and dipping sauces. Donuts are then cooked to order and served piping hot, so you can enjoy watching your donuts being made right in front of you.”

What to Expect at Sons Donuts

Sons Donuts will feature mini donuts cooked hot to order, along with a variety of unique sugar dustings and handcrafted dipping sauces. But that’s not all. The shop will also offer:

• Locally-roasted coffee from Non-Fiction Coffee
• Fresh-squeezed orange juice
• A milk bar with house-made flavored milk shots
