What will you find for sale at the Giggles & Grace Consignment Sale?

I’m sure you’ve heard of consignment sales. But what makes childrens’ consignment sales so incredibly popular?

For starters, children’s items are often pricey. Another reason, kids grow incredibly fast, so many clothes are outgrown before they’ve even been worn. The expression “they’re growing like a weed” sums it up perfectly.

Children’s Consignment Sales are the perfect solution for those looking to clear out outgrown, unused items and those seeking to save some dough on short-lived essentials.

So, what will you find at Asbury’s Giggles & Grace Consignment Sale?

  • Spring/Summer Kids Clothing
  • Spring/Summer Kids Shoes
  • Baby essentials like strollers, car seats, cribs, bassinets, baby carriers, swings, high chairs + more

Attend the Sale:

  • When: Friday, March 5, 8AM-2PM + 4-8PM | Saturday, March 6, 8AM-2PM
  • Discount Sale Day: Saturday, March 6. Select items will be 50% off.
  • Where: Asbury United Methodist Church, 6690 Cahaba Valley Rd, Birmingham, AL 35242

  • No children will be allowed at the sale to reduce the number of shoppers.
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the building.
  • Temperature checks will be taken at the door.
  • There will be no early shopping passes for guests.

More than a Sale

Asbury’s Giggles & Grace Consignment Sale is more than your average sale. It is also a huge missions outreach for Asbury and the communities they serve.

In February 2020, Asbury had over $112K in sales, which allowed Giggles & Grace to donate over $22K back to ministries at Asbury and provide $12K in missions vouchers to be used at the spring 2021 sale.

Here are more ways the consignment sale helps Asbury with its missions outreach:

Charity Donations

Consignors are given the choice to keep or donate their unsold items. Items that are donated are then sorted and distributed to local charities that serve the Birmingham and Shelby County areas. Some include:

Asbury Food Pantry

During each consignment sale, Asbury collects canned food/nonperishable items for their food pantry. The pantry, which got its start in 2011, is entirely self-sufficient and continues to grow each year.

Want to donate to Asbury’s Food Pantry? Doing so could win you the chance to skip the check-out line during the sale on Saturday, March 5. For each food item you donate, you’ll be entered in a raffle for a chance to win a check-out fast pass.

Asbury will be accepting food pantry items Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 4-6 and will be passing out fast passes each day. Donation boxes will be located at the door.

Volunteer and Score Perks

In order to make the Giggles & Grace Consignment Sale a success each year, Asbury relies heavily on volunteers.

The warm and fuzzy feelings you get from donating your time to make the sale a success is just one benefit of signing up to be a volunteer for the Giggles & Grace Consignment sale. Here are more reasons why volunteering is worth your time:

  • You’ll meet and connect with other volunteers and shoppers.
  • You’ll help raise money for Asbury Children’s Ministry and mission projects.
  • You’ll get to shop early.

Shop early? Oh, yes! All you have to do is decide how many hours you’d like to volunteer during the sale, register, then get first dibs to shop the day before the public sale.

Here’s a look at the four volunteer groups and the hours they are able to shop in advance on Thursday, March 4:

  1. Stars: 12 hour volunteers | 10AM-Noon
  2. Graces: 8 volunteer hours | Noon-2PM
  3. Angels: 6 volunteer hours 12:30-2PM
  4. Giggles: 4 volunteer hours | 4-6PM
  5. Consignors: 2 volunteer hours minimum | 6-8PM
